The model simulates player heuristics for the card game SKYJO. It is rule-based, so players can adopt the heuristics to improve their gameplay.
In SKYJO, players start a round without knowing their cards or those of their opponents. As the round unfolds, players gain more information, but it remains imperfect, and a stochastic element remains until the end.
The model implements four strategies:
- Cheat – Is allowed to break the rules and is used to find lower bounds for the higher strategies.
- Level 1 – The most basic strategy follows the rules and makes decisions randomly.
- Level 2 – Extends Level 1 by adding round-level heuristics.
- Level 3 – Extends Level 2 by adding game-level heuristics.
